2015: The Year of Full Album Listens

This year I have made it a goal to listen to more albums in their entirety. In doing so I decided to keep track of everything I listen to. So far it's been an amazing experience. 

I am trying to listen to all sorts of stuff. Old favorites, new styles and artists, and almost anything interesting that gets released. 

I break it down by month to make it more digestible. 

Albums that have repeat listens within the month are accompanied by the number of times I listened through that month. This resets each new month. 

* denotes that I listened to that album on vinyl. 

Hopefully this encourages you to listen all the way through an amazing record. Here's to music being the greatest thing in the world. 

Social Media Replacement

Feeling some blog posts today. Need the computer, I'll check in later. To discuss: Rhinehaus, Deeper Roots Coffee, Money, girlfriend, family. Maybe other things. Probably other things. Not having my Copeland pre order even though release date was 2 weeks ago. Late night burrito causing gas. Maybe a bathroom review. Who knows.

Barista Game

6:10 am the alarm goes off. The last thing I want to do is get out of bed and go to work. It's cold outside. My car is cold. I'm the only person at the shop. Setting up the pop up shop is a pain in the ass. The bartender didn't close properly the night before. First customer comes in and it's bleh. Second customer and it's better. By three and four I'm doing great. Toss a cup of coffee in the mix and I am in the greatest mood. Conversations start flowing. Connections are happening. Ideas are coming. 

This progression is vicious and addicting. It's why I think I will always have a hand in the barista game, however small it may be. Even down the road as I look to start my own shop I hope that I always find a way to pull some opening shifts.

For the second time in my life, I am living with a cat that is not actually mine. 
My current roommate is named Edgar and he is the cutest bastard that walks on four legs. He is starting to come around to the place and me. I take a lot of pictures so I will post them here.

Mondays New Fresh Look

Last week I started working at the roastery (hereby refereed to as "the farm") for Deeper Roots on Mondays. I refer to myself as Courtney's bitch, as I am there to make her life easier and to bag a whole lot of coffee. If you order coffee from us for Mondays roast it most likely was bagged by me! I love the break from customers while still being immersed in the world of coffee.

Trying It Out

In an attempt to separate from social media I will turn to my blog as an outlet for my online life. It's almost impossible to not have a presence on the internet in some way these days however these networks are becoming more and more toxic and over saturated. On here I can post my thoughts, links, pictures etc and you can view them if you so desire. I encourage you to do the same (I think). Well, I'm almost done on the toilet. This has been a great success I feel. I'll leave you with a picture of my girlfriends cat Edgar. We are roommates and he is starting to like me. The pink object is an earplug. He enjoys playing with them and this one got stuck to his claw.

Life has been extraordinarily good. So much has happened, I will try to fill in the details.

This weekend was excellent. Hung out with Caitlin all weekend, and Luke and Sarah Friday and Saturday night. 

Started dog sitting for the Kolls Saturday, there all week.

Went to Crossroads on Saturday night, in the middle of the How To Change The World series.

Woke up and went to Sleepy Bee for breakfast with Luke and Sarah.
Went to parents and celebrated Kaleb's birthday with Fratellis and vanilla coke.
Played Age of Empires with Bish and Chaz, then just Bish.
Left around 9:00 and went to Caitlins parents and watched the Grammy's and talked.

Daily 1.25.14

Woke up at 5am, it was snowing really hard.

Drove to Deeper Roots to pick up coffee, the roads were untouched. Completely covered.

Decided not to brew batches of coffee at DR, head to the gym and arrived about 6:40.

Set up table and started brewing. They delayed the competition due to how bad the snow was. 

Team Alliance had two people not show up, but they still did real well, I was super proud.

The coffee went over smashingly and I was very happy with the results of the day.

12 hours after waking up, I left.

Went to the 6:30 Crossroads. Caitlin met me there then we went out for pizza with Luke and Sarah at Pizzelli on Wooster. Pretty solid.

We watched Midnight In Paris at Lukes, I fell asleep.

Came home and the roommate had friends over and were watching tv fairly loud, had trouble falling asleep despite my unbelievable state of tired.

Caitlin came over and we ate at Mazunte.
We went over to Luke and Sarah's for a few after, Chaz and Karina were there.
